Questions about electrics circuits

NAME:  María Galo Cañete                  GROUP: 3º ESO A

1. What kind of energy does a cell store?
It stores chemical energy, and transfer it to electric energy, when is connected to the circuit.
2. What do you call it when two or more cells are connected?
      You call it a batter.
3. Could you write a definition of electric current?
The electric current is a flow of microscopic particles called electrons, flowing through wires and components.
4. In which direction does the electricity flow in a circuit?
It goes from the negative terminal to the positive one of the cell.
5. What are the components of an electric circuit?
It is basically formed by: a cell, a lamp, wires and a switch.
6. What happens if there is a break in a circuit?
That the current does not flow.
7. Could you draw 10 electric symbols and write their names?

CELL
BATTERY
   SWITCH
   LAMP
 BUZZER
    AMMETER
VOLTMETER
   MOTOR
RESISTOR
VARIABLE RESISTOR

8. Could you write two characteristics of serial circuits?
  • The component are connected end-to-end, one after the other.
  • If one bulb blows, it breaks the whole circuit and the bulb goes out.
9. Could you write two characteristics of parallel circuits?
-The components are connected side by side.
-If one bulb blows there is still be a complete circuit to the other bulb so its stays alight.
10. What unit is electrical current measured in?
It is current flow is measured with ammeters.
11. What is the electrical push that the cell gives to the current in a circuit?
        The voltage.
12. What device is used to measure electric current?
       The ammeters.
13. What device is used to measure voltage?
    The voltmeter.
14. Are ammeters and voltmeters connected in a circuit in the same way?
No, they are not. The ammeters are connected inside the draw, but voltmeters are outside connected.
15. Give me a synonym for voltage.
      Potential Difference (DP).
16. What happens to the voltage in a series circuit?
That the voltage is shared between the components.
